A leading Aberdeen accountant and business advisor has scooped a prestigious UK awards double.

Simon Cowie, managing partner at Infinity Partnership, has been named Practice Leader of the Year at the 2023 Accounting Excellence Awards in London.

He won the Practice Pioneer Award at last year’s event. Simon previously won the individual honour at the British Accountancy Awards – another major industry event – in 2016.

Simon said: “It was a tremendous honour to win an award at the Accounting Excellence event last year, but to again be recognised by my peers is truly amazing.

“It’s true what they say: you’re only as good as your team and we have an excellent team at Infinity.

“This is recognition of the hard work they do to support our clients in the North-east of Scotland and further afield with first-rate accountancy and advisory services.”

Award judges commented that Simon has again delivered impressive and consistent levels of controlled growth, showing how he can adapt and steer his firm even with changing market conditions.

Infinity Partnership is a five-time winner at the British Accountancy Awards. The practice has won more than 30 awards in total, including successes at ceremonies held by leading accountancy software brands such as Iris and Sage.

Simon is a two-time winner of the Scottish Dealmaker of the Year title. He has completed more than 100 deals worth more than £300m in total.

Infinity has made a significant investment in cloud-based technology solutions to assist in providing support and advice to clients. The firm, which has a UK-wide client base, is recognised for its accountancy, research and development tax relief, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance expertise. The majority of its clients are connected to the energy sector in the Aberdeen area.

More than 650 people attended the 2023 Accounting Excellence Awards event which was held at The Roundhouse in Camden and hosted by comedian Tom Allen.
