Zenith Energy wraps up successful football camp in Thiès, Senegal in collaboration with AFC and Partners

Brent Bruce, Community Projects Officer for Aberdeen FC Community Trust & football coach, puts the youngsters through their paces at the Zenith Energy four-day football camp in Thiès, Senegal.

Zenith Energy, in partnership with Aberdeen Football Club, Aberdeen Football Community Trust, Gorée Offshore Engineering and Woodside Energy Senegal, is thrilled to announce the triumphant conclusion of a four-day football camp in Thiès, Senegal. The camp held by the well engineering consultancy and project management company brought together more than sixty enthusiastic youngsters, both boys and girls, for an unforgettable football experience.

Martin Booth, Managing Director of Zenith Energy, and Chris Collie, Operations Director, joined the young footballers in Senegal, along with esteemed AFC coaches. Over the course of the academy, the players displayed remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication, honing their skills, and embracing the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Central to the camp’s resounding success was the dedication and expertise of the coaching team. Despite being in a foreign country with scorching temperatures of 35°C, coaches Brent Bruce and Paul Davidson remained unfazed. They delivered meticulously planned sessions with enthusiasm and adaptability, even overcoming language barriers with the help of translators. Notably, the coaches even embraced the local language, Wolof, as part of their immersive experience.

By the second session, they had succeeded in fostering team spirit and drawing out the youngsters' potential. The smiles on the faces of both the coaches and the young participants were a testament to the joy, learning, and fun that characterised this football camp.
