Westwood backs Americas offshore growth with new senior appointment

Westwood Global Energy Group (Westwood), the specialist energy market research and consultancy firm, has announced the appointment of Cinnamon Edralin to its RigLogix team as Americas Research Director.

Based in Houston, Cinnamon has almost two decades of experience covering the offshore rig industry and joins Westwood from Esgian where she was Head of Market Research. In addition, Cinnamon brings demonstrable expertise and understanding of the regional market from a 16-year tenure at IHS Markit where she managed the Americas offshore rig team alongside the Americas marine team and the US/Canada land rig team.

Cinnamon’s appointment comes at a time of significant growth for the local offshore industry, which, following a downturn in recent years, is set to offer prosperous returns in 2024 and beyond. In particular, Cinnamon’s longstanding knowledge will bolster Westwood’s servicing of the Brazilian floating rig market, which is also poised for further growth after a successful 2023.

As part of Westwood’s commitment to continual strengthening of its offering to clients as global markets adapt and evolve, Cinnamon’s newly created role cements Westwood’s ambitious plans for its provisions across the Americas.

Dominic Ferry, CEO at Westwood said: “The American offshore rig industry has weathered numerous challenges in recent years, but with numbers looking up, Cinnamon joins the RigLogix team at an exciting time for the market. We’re delighted to have her expertise on board as we continue to support our clients.”

Teresa Wilkie, Director, RigLogix at Westwood said: “Our clients have come to know RigLogix as the primary source for market intelligence on offshore rigs across the globe and with Cinnamon on board we are only better equipped to service the industry to make the most of the potential opportunities that lay ahead.

“Having worked with Cinnamon earlier on in our careers, I’ve seen her intricate knowledge of the Americas offshore market first hand, and we’re already seeing the impact she brings to the RigLogix team since she joined.”

In recognition of the increased activity in the Americas, and building on the successes of previous events, Westwood will host its next Houston Offshore Breakfast Briefing on Wednesday 3rd April. The event will see Cinnamon present an outlook for the global offshore rig market, alongside the Westwood team’s latest insights on the Americas, and an overview of the subsea and platform market.
