Reconomy, the leading international circular economy specialist, is delighted to announce that it has won three back-to-back sustainability awards. These include Sustainable Business of the Year at the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards, Impact Business of the Year at the City AM Dragon Awards and Best International Circular Economy Specialist at Acquisition International’s Global Excellence Awards.

The Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards are the UK’s largest and most prestigious business awards, celebrating the cream of the crop across all industries and those that have transcended expectations throughout the year. The Sustainable Business of the Year Award category specifically recognises businesses that address social, economic, environmental and ethical challenges, put sustainability at the core of their values, operations and ambitions and have achieved meaningful and lasting impacts.

The CityAM Dragon Awards recognise incredible examples of social impact across the business community and the Impact Business of the Year award category celebrates those businesses that are built with the purpose of contributing to a positive change in the social or environmental area of ESG.

The Acquisition International Global Excellence Awards 2024 recognise outstanding companies, teams and individuals who are driving change, surpassing expectations and are excelling across the vast corporate landscape.

All three awards saw an unprecedented number of entries and Reconomy provided extensive details demonstrating its commitment to best-in-class sustainability practices, ambitious targets to outperform the industry, progress and ongoing initiatives. Notable achievements included Reconomy maintaining its EcoVadis Gold certification and receiving approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its climate goals in 2023. Additionally, Reconomy generated £1.3 million in pure social value in 2023 and contributed 1,470 volunteering hours.

Diane Crowe, Group Sustainability Director at Reconomy, commented: "We are thrilled to win these prestigious awards which recognise our company’s purpose to create a more sustainable, waste- free world by accelerating the circular economy to tackle climate change and protect nature while providing social and commercial benefits for businesses and communities. As a business centred on sustainability, we strive for the highest standards and to lead by example and these awards are testament to the significant strides our teams have made across our organisation.

“With human consumption of resources still far exceeding the earth's ability to regenerate them, we recognise there is more to do and remain laser focused on our mission of empowering businesses to better manage their resources and reduce waste. I want to thank my fantastic colleagues for their unwavering dedication and passion to our vision of creating a more circular future.”
