Leak detection innovator receives industry-leading nomination

PipeSense CEO Joe Van Vynckt

Highlighting the transformational capabilities of its advanced pipeline monitoring and leak detection technologies, Houston-based PipeSense has been named a finalist in a leading industry awards ceremony.

The Gulf Energy Information Excellence Awards finalists were announced on Friday, with PipeSense receiving a nomination in the Best Digital Transformation category.

Submitting its PipeSentry suite of products – the name given to its disruptive technologies – this nomination helps to further establish PipeSense, still in its first full year of operation, as an emerging leader in the pipeline monitoring and leak detection industry.

Utilizing advanced machine learning and AI-based data analysis techniques, the company’s PipeSentry product catalog aims to quickly and accurately detect leaks and locate blockages to maximize operational efficiency and service life of pipeline assets. In the process, PipeSense provides critical defense and support to operators, communities, and the environment.

The team behind PipeSense has over a century of vital industry experience in selecting, developing, and deploying complex pipeline integrity management technologies and high-end engineering. The development of PipeSense solutions is significant for the midstream market as it allows pipeline operators to meet and exceed the requirements of new and upcoming legislation intended to minimize fugitive methane emissions by quickly and accurately detecting the onset of a pipeline leak.

PipeSense CEO Joe Van Vynckt celebrated his team’s nomination, commenting on what it means for their growth: “In our first full year of operation, it has been clear to see the demand for disruptive technologies like those we provide. The recognition of being nominated alongside legacy operators and industry titans proves that even though we are relatively new, the service we provide is different. From day one, our mission has been to make a lasting positive impact on the industry, the environment, and our communities. This nomination gives us a greater platform to show what we are capable of and why we are fighting back against pipeline leaks.”

The Gulf Energy Information Excellence Awards recognize and celebrate the latest cutting-edge technologies that set the benchmark for excellence in the industry, as well as the leaders and innovative minds behind them. The awards ceremony will take place in Houston, Texas, on the 9th of October.
