Hendrik Veder Group boosts sustainability goals and targets diversification with new offering

Hendrik Veder Group's Aberdeen branch increases output of fibre ropes amid diversification aims

The Aberdeen-based workshop of specialist provider of steel wire and fibre rope solutions, products and services, Hendrik Veder Group, is diversifying its offering after a promising Q1 that has set them up to achieve its strategic goals for 2023.

As the European leader in steel wire and fibre products and services, Hendrik Veder Group has strengthened the capabilities of its Aberdeen office through the growth of its workshop, sales team, and service range. The need for expansion comes after a successful first quarter that has seen the best Q1 turnover in three years thanks to the finalisation of several large-scale projects.

The completion of existing projects has allowed the Group to strengthen its Aberdeen team, allowing them to continue collaborating with customers and offering bespoke products and services that will unburden customer operations. This approach places Hendrik Veder Group in the best position to serve clients across a variety of projects and achieve goals for the remainder of 2023.

A priority for the Group this year is to diversify its offering and services whilst continuing its commitment to providing innovative solutions that help develop a more sustainable industry for the future.

Leading the Group’s aims for diversification is the goal for the UK branches to increase solutions that are based on the output of fibre ropes, a goal which has played a crucial role in the appointment of a brand-new position for a Sales Manager focused on its fibre rope offering. This development is fully supported by Hendrik Veder’s Dutch Branch, which will be providing support and training in both Aberdeen and Sheffield, utilising its vast experience having had a fibre rope factory since 1545.

The increased focus on fibre rope solutions will allow Hendrik Veder Group to maintain its high standards for providing sustainable solutions with part of the offering including mooring ropes that have been recycled from previous ropes and slings. The introduction of these recycled ropes adds to the Group's impressive track record of assisting customers in reducing their carbon footprint by offering alternative solutions to what is standard within the industry.

Recently, the Aberdeen branch completed a successful trial for an innovative circular rope project in collaboration with a global leader in the energy industry that saw the Group utilise its partner network to inspect, collect, and process used slings, recycling them into raw materials and saving operators the cost of logistics and incineration.

Discussing the new offering and how it will impact sustainability goals, Managing Director, Bertwin Zonneveld commented: “Our global team has always taken great pride in our focus on sustainability, so the offering of our fibre rope solutions only strengthens these goals further. As we expand on the potential of what we can offer our clients, our drive for diversification has been characterized by the completion of a recent circular rope trial with great feedback coming from the client so far. We are incredibly proud not just of this project, but of what is still to come as we continue to take the lead in the industry. We’re confident that our strong financial return in Q1 and our recent appointments will allow us to build for an exciting remainder of 2023.”
