Pipe Remediation Expertise and Innovation to Drive 2025 Growth

Pipetech’s Operations Director, Leonard Hamill.

Pipetech, the specialist in complex pipework and process system cleaning, has its sights set on a prosperous 2025 thanks to high-profile successes over the last 12 months.

As a subsidiary of holding group Ramco Pipetech Holdings Limited (RPHL), Pipetech delivers specialist cleaning services to the global energy industry. In 2024, Pipetech accomplished new benchmarks to support its growth strategy and remain on track to achieve targets for continued market excellence.

Among its accomplishments, Pipetech successfully delivered its largest workscope in the UK to date, marking a significant milestone for the company. The year also saw the successful proof of concept for an innovative, patented wells technology, showcasing the company’s commitment to meeting evolving client needs with cutting-edge solutions.

Additionally, Pipetech further proved its credentials as flow remediation specialists by delivering its Aqua Milling® technology to support oil and gas operations on the south coast of the UK. Utilised as an alternative to replacing piping systems, Aqua Milling® has consistently proven its ability to clean pipeline systems back to bare metal. For this project, which was part of a periodic maintenance campaign, Aqua Milling® demonstrated its groundbreaking capability to reach further distances and navigate around multiple bends without compromising cleaning performance, all from one single entry point. This innovative approach highlights the technology’s effectiveness in optimising pipeline maintenance and reducing operational costs.

The success of the last year has laid the groundwork for what is set to be a fast-paced start to the new year. A string of new projects in both the UK and Norway are on the horizon for the group, aided by the market launch of a brand-new and much requested technology.

Capitalising on its 20-plus-year reputation for delivering advanced and efficient process remediation cleaning solutions, Pipetech is gearing up to officially launch its ‘game-changing’ Downhole Scale Remediation (DSR) technology. Supported by the Net Zero Technology Centre’s (NZTC) emissions reduction programme, the DSR has been in development for the last two years and is expected to be available on the market in the coming months. The DSR technology has recently been nominated as a finalist in the Inspiration from Innovation category of the Northern Star Business Awards to boost its credibility and anticipation.

Alongside the DSR, established technologies and services from across the group will help to support the longevity of energy production sites in the UK and Norway. These solutions will also play a pivotal role in supporting efficient and sustainable decommissioning.

Pipetech’s Operations Director Leonard Hamill is confident of the firm's continued expansion, commenting: “2024 has set a new benchmark thanks to continued interest from long standing clients as well as breakthroughs in new relationships. Milestones have been achieved thanks to the completion of several cleaning campaigns, supporting operators to maximise the lifespan of their assets and production.

The continued development of the DSR has been just one highlight, but one that will serve as a springboard for more success to come in the new year. However, this is only part of a larger plan and portfolio of technologies at Pipetech. We are confident of continued new developments in 2025, and we look forward to getting started on the number of projects commencing in Q1.”
