CSA Ocean Sciences named winner of HSE Award in Trinidad & Tobago

AMCHAM T&T’s Excellence in HSE Award 2023 recognizes best-in-class safety practices

CSA Ocean Sciences Inc. (CSA), an international marine environmental consulting and survey company, is pleased to announce that its Trinidad & Tobago subsidiary, CSA Ocean Sciences (Trinidad) Ltd. was the recent winner of the AMCHAM T&T’s Excellence in HSE Award 2023.

The award, which was presented to the CSA team at the 13th Annual National Excellence in HSE Awards 2023 evening in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, on October 30, recognizes local businesses that have successfully implemented comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices into their daily business operations, and that business leaders make their HSE program a company-wide focus for continual improvement.

Since 1970, CSA has completed thousands of multidisciplinary marine survey projects for more than 650 clients in 76 countries, with over 100 survey projects delivered in the shallow, deep, and ultra-deep waters offshore Suriname, Guyana, Barbados, and the wider Caribbean. CSA conducted its first project in Trinidad and Tobago in 1977 and has established an exemplary track record as CSA Ocean Sciences (Trinidad) Ltd. since 2008 among oil and gas majors operating in the region.

The National Excellence in HSE Award is the latest milestone in CSA’s unwavering commitment to championing HSE standards as a point of distinction in serving energy developers operating in Trinidad & Tobago. Earlier in 2023, CSA’s Trinidad operation received a 100% score in its Safe to Work Re-certification audit conducted by the Energy Chamber Trinidad and Tobago, an achievement that is underwritten by the company’s record of zero downtime due to injuries.

“We are delighted to be able to officially celebrate the ongoing hard work and dedication of CSA team members to integrate and monitor a company-wide culture of safety in our day-to-day operations,” said CSA President Gordon Stevens. “Designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing a robust Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System (HSEMS) that systematically assesses risks, applies controls, and enhances HSE performance is a source of immense pride among CSA employees and has become a hallmark of the Group’s promise to serve clients with the marine survey teams, techniques, and technologies that promote safe, efficient, and sustainable practices across the globe.”
