Norwegian links celebrated on eve of Offshore Europe

A much-anticipated annual fixture on the local business events calendar has marked ten years of celebrating the “valued” links between the North East and Norway.

On the eve of the 50th Offshore Europe conference and exhibition in Aberdeen, Norwood Hall Hotel was the venue for the tenth Aberdeen-Norway Gateway which was held by Granite PR in association with ONS and Invest in Rogaland.

Updates, case studies and presentations were the order of the day for a line-up of eminent speakers from sectors such as energy, energy transition, digital, supply chain, training, collaboration opportunities and more.  They were introduced by Chair Greg Quinn (former High Commissioner to Guyana and Consul General Calgary) with Aberdeen Lord Provost Dr David Cameron providing an official welcome to the city for delegates.

Commenting on the success of the Aberdeen-Norway Gateway, Head of Economic Development at Rogaland County Council Mette Fossan said: “We highly value the long-lasting relations between our region and the North East of Scotland and we are therefore glad to support the tenth Aberdeen-Norway gateway through Invest in Rogaland.”

President and CEO of the ONS Foundation Leif Johan Sevland added: “It has been great meeting up with our Scottish partners and friends. We know the collaboration across the North Sea will continue to grow in importance, also in the green transition, and look forward to welcoming Scottish companies and partners to ONS next year.”

Event chair Greg Quinn said: “It is important to recognise the relevance and impact of events such as this in building links between businesses and people from Scotland and across the globe - for the benefit of all.”

The Aberdeen-Norway Gateway 2023 is supported by Aberdeen City Council, City of Stavanger, DP&L Travel Management, EIC, Government of Western Australia, G-Tech, Hampco, Kane Russell Coleman Logan PC, Merrimac International, PES Executive Handling, SDI, Stronachs, Widerøe and Wood Mackenzie.
