Archer extends Horizon56 Partnership across 12 platform rigs

Oil and Gas operations workflow digitalisation provider Horizon56, has strengthened its partnership with Archer, with a deal to digitalise a further nine rigs within Archer’s operations.

Archer’s implementations of Horizon56’s RigFlow™ solution will now scale from the existing three platform rigs established since 2022, to twelve rigs globally.

Planning teams across all 12 rigs will access the same RigBridge™ planning solution to create the Detailed Operation Procedures (DOP), and each rig will have its own implementation of RigFlow™. This setup will be used for executing the digital instructions, tracking progress and distributing relevant information in real-time to the entire rig team and other stakeholders.

Esben Thorup, Managing Director or Horizon56, said, “We continue to grow and scale our offering with forward-looking partners, like Archer. It’s exciting to see this latest validation of our digital transformation credentials and innovative approach helping Archer towards its digitalisation objectives and supporting its goal of an end-to-end digital dataflow.”

With the three-year agreement, Horizon56 will deploy its RigFlow™ Rig Management System to digitalise the orchestration and execution of the digital DOPs on the rigs. Together they will also accelerate and improve the capture of lessons learned, receive instant updates to well plans, and ensure everyone involved is aligned and working from the latest plans.

By closing the gap between planning and execution, the solutions will unify by bringing together all project stakeholders within a single digital workflow for information sharing, to enable safer, more efficient and transparent operations.

Eirik Windegaard, Country Manager Platform Drilling, Archer, commented, “We are expanding our established collaboration with Horizon56 based on a shared interest in digital transformation within well operations. The extension of our partnership is anchored in extensive positive feedback from our employees and an eagerness to adopt new tools that enable and enhance the working lives of our digital fieldworkers.”

Horizon56 has worked closely with Archer since 2022. This latest deal strengthens Horizon56’s position in Norway following its recent partnership with Equinor.
